My first introduction to Tom Vine came in February 2022, when I reviewed his submission for the Maven Super Bowl Challenge.

I was immediately impressed by the quality of his work. He clearly had sharp technical skills, an eye for design, and a unique ability to craft a clear, data-driven narrative. His work was so good, in fact, that he ended up beating out several hundred participants to win the challenge!

In addition to serious bragging rights, his victory came with an annual subscription to the Maven Analytics platform, where he began his learning journey to further hone his Power BI, DAX, and dashboard design skills.

The next time I heard from Tom was six months later, when I received an email with some incredible news – he had just landed a job as a Power Platform Developer for Alpine Formula 1, and wanted to thank the entire Maven team for helping make his dream a reality.

As big fan of both Power BI and Formula 1, I couldn't resist hopping on a call with Tom to hear more about the new role, and how his journey led him to where he is today.
