Advanced MySQL Database Administration
Advanced MySQL Database Administration
Course Description
MySQL is a powerful tool for managing and analyzing relational databases, and a skill that every analyst and BI professional should have in the arsenal.
In this course, you’ll take your database DBA skills to the next level, expanding into advanced concepts like replication, backup, recovery, and security, along with automation tools like stored procedures, triggers, and scheduled events.
We’ll start by introducing the course structure, installing MySQL Community and Workbench, and reviewing key database administration (DBA) tasks: creating and editing schemas & tables, inserting and deleting records, and reviewing the key principles of normalized databases.
From there we’ll work through more advanced DBA concepts like replication, backup and recovery, and learn how to leverage automation via stored procedures, triggers, and scheduled events.
Throughout the course, you’ll be playing the role of Lead DBA for a new firm, building out an entire database and populating tables from the ground up, just like you would in the real world.
If you’re looking for a unique and highly engaging way to develop advanced SQL database administration skills, this is the course for you.

"This is a great one if you're trying to strengthen your DBA skills or if you're just someone who works with data and wants a more concrete understanding of how that data is stored and manipulated. Per usual, great stuff from Maven Analytics!"

Just Awesome!!! This is a big one, John Pauler & Maven Analytics have done it again! Really enjoyed Advanced MySQL Database Administration, definitely aimed at the Advanced User, but it's bite sized and delivered awesome. The course is from a DBA point of view than an Analyst, but don't think that its not suitable. It great addition and makes you think of the other things such as Data Protection, Backup, Triggers, Automation and so much more. It really shows how powerful and the benefits of MySQL. Great, highly recommend this to anyone wanting to up their MySQL skills. Thanks again Maven!!

Sean Tom Ryan (STR)
After completion of Database Administrator beginner course on Maven Analytics, I made a decision to deep dive into the world of Database Administrator by taking the MySQL Advance Database Administration by Maven Analytics. The course content is well-structured, delved further into different advanced concept of database administration, like key mapping; backup and recovery; trigger automation; views; stored procedures and events schedule. What makes this course to standout, firstly is the way the instructors break down these complex concepts into digestible pieces.; secondly, the practical exercises and real-world examples allow you to apply what you've learned immediately, helping us build muscle memory. By the end of the course, I felt more confident dealing with database systems.
