Last week we announced the newest offering from Maven Analytics: Cohort Learning.
We're really excited about the new format, and wanted to give you some more information about what it is and why we decided to update our offering!
First, it's worth explaining that our decision to change course from our prior 6 month bootcamp offering was based on feedback from our students and potential students.
There were three major themes we kept hearing over and over when we talked to folks about the bootcamp we have run in the past...
People loved the chance to interact with our instructor team in live sessions, but the 6 month commitment was more than some people could commit to. We knew we needed to offer some shorter duration learning opportunities.
The bootcamp's price was out of reach for a lot of people who were interested. We needed to make it more affordable.
The bootcamp's curriculum was too rigid, too "one size fits all". We talked to a lot of people who would benefit from some of the bootcamp's modules, but didn't need the others. We needed to offer something more modular so that it could fit the needs of different individuals.
We surveyed about 700 potential students to make sure we knew exactly what you wanted.
Here are the themes that jumped to the top of the list...
1. Building a project portfolio and getting your projects reviewed by the experts. This was seen as the highest value component of a live learning program.
2. Getting live access to instructors. After projects, this was the next highest ranking component of a live learning program.
3. A price tag that was more affordable. We landed on offering the new program at $999 USD. And folks who sign up early can save with our Super Early Bird and Early Bird discounts!
4. Ability to take the specific module(s) that are most interesting and skip the others. Power BI was the topic people were most interested in, so we're starting there on October 18th. After that, we'll likely do a SQL or Excel module in January.
We really appreciate everyone who took the time to share feedback with us. It helped us shape this new offering, and we are really happy with how it's turned out!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Maven Analytics?
Maven Analytics is an online learning platform that helps professionals and organizations build practical data and AI skills in analytics, business intelligence, and data science. Our hands-on courses are designed to help learners stay competitive and future-proof their careers in the age of AI.
Are data analysis and data science still good career paths?
Absolutely. As long as companies collect and use data, they need people who know how to turn that data into results. Roles are changing, and so are the skills needed to succeed, but the career paths remain strong. Focus on data literacy fundamentals, business thinking, communication skills, and learning how to use modern data and AI tools, and you can build a strong career.
Will AI replace data jobs?
AI is changing how data professionals work, but it is not replacing the need for skilled analysts and data scientists. Instead, AI is becoming another tool in the data workflow. Organizations still need people who can ask the right questions, interpret results, communicate insights, and apply data to real business decisions. The most successful professionals will be those who learn how to combine core data skills with modern AI tools.
How can I future-proof my career in analytics?
Future-proofing your analytics career means building strong core data skills, understanding business context, and learning how to work effectively with AI rather than compete with it. The goal is to become a better analyst, problem solver, and decision-maker.
How long does it take to build job-ready data skills?
That depends on your starting point and goals, but many learners can build meaningful skills over a few months with consistent practice, even when studying part-time. The most important factor is applying what you learn through hands-on projects and real business problems.
