Netflix Global Top 10

This project utilized data published by Netflix to promote the weekly top 10 lists of most watched TV and films. Every Tuesday, a new list is published including the titles with the top 'views' from the previous week (Monday to Sunday). This list is broken down into English and Non-English categories. At the start of the project, I downloaded the most recent "Global Top 10" which included the top 10 from July 4th, 2021 to June 11th, 2023.

To expand on the information provided by Netflix, I cleaned and filtered the data to get a list of all unique titles included in this list. The list was provided in a script to ChatGPT to get the genre of each title. For this dashboard, I included the top genre as there may be multiple genres listed for each.

With this data, we can determine the top category, title, genres, and week based on total hours viewed. We can also review the change in weekly viewing hours over time and the number of weeks each title was seen in a top 10 list.

This dashboard could continue to be updated as new lists are published each week. With this additional data, this could also provide further analysis on the changes in viewership after COVID-19 lockdowns and the availability of other streaming platforms.
