Google Hackathon 2022 - Food Prices Index

In October 2022, I took part in #HackerthonAI, held at the Google Offices in Victoria.

Our team Maximize, designed and prototyped a ‘Compare the Market’ app for Supermarkets, inspired by the current cost of living crisis.

Using data from GOV.UK and Office for National Statistics, we analysed how inflation has affected the prices of food and drink in the UK over the past year and devised a system to compare their prices across supermarkets. The team consisted of a Data Analyst (me), UX/UI designers and a BI Developer.

We had data on food prices up to April 2022, putting it all into PowerBI, I compared the prices to the previous year and created a food price index.
