The primary objective of this project is to design and develop a Power BI dashboard that not only captivates visually but also efficiently presents key insights.

The aim is to provide stakeholders with a tool that facilitates informed decision-making by offering strategic insights in a clear and understandable manner. Through this dashboard, stakeholders will be empowered to decipher complex data effortlessly, thus enabling them to make well-informed strategic decisions with ease.

About Dataset:

The dataset provided for this project spans from April 2022 to June 2022 and comprises Amazon sales data.

It includes essential attributes such as product name, product image URL, price, units sold, item details, city, country, state, and other pertinent information.

This comprehensive dataset not only encompasses transactional details but also incorporates contextual data, facilitating a holistic analysis of Amazon sales during the specified period. Additionally, the inclusion of product images enhances the visual appeal and interpretability of the dataset, contributing to a more immersive analytical experience.

Tools Used:

In line with the objectives and project requirements, I have utilized Power BI, a powerful business intelligence tool, for dashboard creation. Additionally, I have employed Excel to some extent to ensure that the data is formatted clearly and in a usable manner.

Dashboard Overview:

In response to the problem statement and objective, three distinct pages have been crafted within the Power BI dashboard.

The initial page delves into detailed analysis, presenting a comprehensive overview of the data. Subsequently,

The second page is dedicated to providing a holistic product overview, offering insights into various product attributes and performance metrics.

Finally, the third page is designed for a focused examination, allowing users to delve into specific product views and glean insights tailored to selected products.

This multi-page approach ensures a nuanced exploration of the dataset, catering to diverse analytical needs and enhancing decision-making capabilities for stakeholders.


Detailed Explanation:

Page One: Overview


On the left-hand side of this page, a new slicer feature introduced by Power BI has been integrated, showcasing product names alongside their respective images. This slicer empowers users to filter data by clicking on the desired product, enhancing the user experience and facilitating precise analysis. Screenshot 2024-05-12 132556

Following this, another slicer has been incorporated, allowing users to filter data based on delivery status, providing a refined view of the dataset.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Overall Sales: $89.08 million Total Sales: $89.08 million Seller Count: 19.25 thousand

Sales by City:

Furthermore, a bar chart has been included to illustrate sales by city, offering a clear visual representation of sales performance across different cities.

Sales by State:

Additionally, a new bar chart has been introduced to depict sales by state, enabling users to discern sales trends on a state-wise basis.

Moreover, two buttons have been provided, enabling users to toggle between viewing sales or units, facilitating a detailed analysis of sales metrics by city or state. Screenshot 2024-05-12 132642

Sales Trend by date:

Lastly, at the bottom of the page, a line chart has been incorporated to visualize the sales trend over time, highlighting significant data points such as the peak sales on May 2, 2022.

This comprehensive arrangement of visualizations and interactive features equips users with the tools necessary for in-depth analysis and informed decision-making based on the provided dataset.


Page two: Product

This page is primarily designed for viewing products, allowing users to select a product category and explore its corresponding products.

The layout is visually appealing, providing an enjoyable viewing experience. However, it is important to note that this page prioritizes aesthetics over detailed insights.

Its main function is to showcase products within a chosen category rather than delving deeply into analytical insights.


Page Three: Product View

This page also prioritizes visual appeal while simultaneously providing insightful analytics.

Through the utilization of slicers, users can select any product and subsequently view its overall sales, sales units, return amount, and the number of reviews associated with that particular product.

This interactive approach empowers users to delve into specific product details, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of individual product performance within the dataset.


My Learnings:

Data Interpretation Skills: I've learned to effectively interpret and present complex data in a visually appealing manner, utilizing various visualization techniques such as charts, graphs, and slicers to enhance data comprehension.

User-Centric Design: Understanding the importance of user experience, I've gained insights into designing dashboards that prioritize ease of use and interactivity, thereby fostering user engagement and exploration.

Analytical Thinking: Through the process of designing the dashboard and selecting relevant metrics, I've honed my analytical thinking skills, enabling me to identify key insights and trends that are crucial for decision-making.

Communication Skills: Articulating the purpose and functionality of the dashboard, as well as its insights, has improved my ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner, catering to diverse stakeholders' needs.
