This project was designed to create a simple, interactive KPI report to track metrics and explore high-level monthly trends. The sales and inventory dataset came from a fictitious chain of toy stores of four locations in Mexico: airport, commercial, downtown, and residential.
The four objectives included:
· Connecting and cleaning five csv files.
· Create a relational model by creating 1-to-many relationships from the fact table sales to the dimension tables: products, stores, and calendar.
· Create four calculated measures: Total Orders, Total Revenue Total Profit and Profit Margin.
· Lastly, build an interactive report by adding KPI card visuals, a filter slicer for store location, a bar chart showing Total Orders by product category, and a line chart for Total Revenue.
Some trends and patterns include:
· Toys generate 10K orders, with a revenue of $214K, and a profit of $43K.
· Arts & Crafts generate 15K orders, with a revenue of $187K and a profit of $60K.
· Electronics is the only product category with a declining revenue trend from January 2022 to September 2023.
· All store locations have shown a positive total revenue trend from January 2022 to September 2023.
