Restaurant Order Analysis - SQL Guided Project

About this project

Based on two tables containing data about menu items and orders, the following findings were explored using SQL statements (see additional photos):

There are 32 items on the menu. Some of the least expensive items include Edamame, Chips & Salsa , and Mac & Cheese for prices ranging between $5 and $7. The most expensive items on the menu were Shrimp Scampi for $19.95, and Chicken Parmesan or Korean Beef Bowl priced at $17.95. There were 9 Italian dishes on the menu, which also carried the highest average price. The lowest-priced cuisine was American with the lowest number of available dishes.

The date range for the orders between January and March of 2023. There were 12,234 items ordered in 5,370 unique orders. Only 20 orders had more than 12 items in them. Combining both the items and orders tables revealed that dishes from American and Asian cuisine were the most popular. As well, the top profitable orders contained mostly Asian and Italian menu items.
