Unicorn Companies Analysis

This is a dataset from the Maven Unicorn challenge, which consisted in analyze private companies with a valuation over $1B around the world.

Step 1:

First that I did, was examine the data type for each field in the dataset, and divided by text, date, whole number, currency format. Then, I separated the fields as shown:

1. Dimensions fields:

• Company
• Date joined
• Industry
• City
• Country
• Continent

2. Measures fields:

• Valuation
• Funding

Step 2:

After complete the data modeling, I did the following questions to start my analysis:

1. Which unicorn companies have had the biggest return on investment?
2. How long does it usually take for a company to become a unicorn? Has it always been this way?
3. Which countries have the most unicorns? Are there any cities that appear to be industry hubs?
4. Which investors have funded the most unicorns?
5. Which companies have the highest valuation?
6. Which industries contains the most of Unicorn companies?
