This is a dataset from the Maven Unicorn challenge, which consisted in analyze private companies with a valuation over $1B around the world.
Step 1:
First that I did, was examine the data type for each field in the dataset, and divided by text, date, whole number, currency format. Then, I separated the fields as shown:
- Dimensions fields:
- Company
- Date joined
- Industry
- City
- Country
- Continent
- Measures fields:
Step 2:
After complete the data modeling, I did the following questions to start my analysis:
- Which unicorn companies have had the biggest return on investment?
- How long does it usually take for a company to become a unicorn? Has it always been this way?
- Which countries have the most unicorns? Are there any cities that appear to be industry hubs?
- Which investors have funded the most unicorns?
- Which companies have the highest valuation?
- Which industries contains the most of Unicorn companies?
