Realization Analysis in Hospitality Industry (Power BI)

About this project

I have accomplished the following tasks:

-Conducted ETL operations to extract, transform, and load data -Cleaned and transformed the data using the Power Query Editor to ensure its accuracy and consistency. -Built a data model by establishing relationships between the fact table and dimension table to facilitate analysis. -Created DAX measures such as SUM, AVG, CALCULATE, and DIVIDE to calculate and analyze data effectively. -Data Visualization

KPIs of this project- ADR, RevPar, Occupancy rate, DBRN, DSRN, DURN.

-ADR(average daily rate) means the average revenue that a hotel receives for each occupied guest room per day.

-RevPar (revenue per available room) RevPAR helps hotels measure their revenue-generating performance to accurately price rooms. RevPAR can help hotels measure themselves against other properties or brands.

-Occupancy rate means total successful bookings happened to the total rooms available. Through the analysis of the data, the following insights were derived:

Insights:-

  1. The Average Daily Rate (ADR) remained fairly constant throughout the three months, indicating that the hotels did not make any significant changes to their pricing, even on weekends.

  2. The ADR AND RevPar chart is giving insights the RevPar is going down which is happening probably due to the decreasing occupancy rates and lower room rates to improve revenue performance, the hotel should focus on increasing occupancy rates by implementing effective marketing strategies to attract more guests. Additionally, the hotel management should consider increasing room prices according to the market value, which would help to increase the RevPAR.

  3. The data suggest that the Mumbai and Hyderabad properties generated more revenue than the other two cities, indicating that the business should focus on these locations to increase revenue further.
