📌 Key Insights:

The Total Carbon Footprint exhibited a notable range, spanning from 54 to 79 kilograms of CO2 equivalent (kg CO2e). This range represents a substantial 46.30% difference in Carbon Footprint, underscoring the significant variations in environmental impact among these models. It's clear that not all iPhones are created equal in terms of their carbon footprint

The challenge of reducing emissions becomes more pronounced in the Scope 3 category, which encompasses emissions indirectly associated with Apple's activities. Emissions from manufacturing, constituting a substantial 75% of their carbon footprint, have proven difficult to significantly decrease. Similarly, emissions related to business travel and employee commutes have posed ongoing challenges.

Despite an impressive 49% increase in employee headcount since 2015 and remarkable financial growth—with market capitalization soaring to six times its 2015 value and total revenue surging by 68.72%—there appears to be no clear correlation between this prosperity and a reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Moreover, the gap to carbon neutral 2030 is still wide, and investing in carbon offsets, such as tree planting and reforestation projects, will definitely underscore their dedication to addressing emissions beyond immediate control. Let’s plant ‘forests’ to expand the Earth's capacity to absorb and store carbon dioxide, contributing to the global effort to restore MOTHER NATURE.
