Cycling through Data to Unveil 11oth Tour de France 2K23

About this project

In this Power BI report, I've compiled & visualized a wealth of data, including historical race characteristics, results, duration, participation, individual rider statistics. The interactive dashboards provide an engaging & dynamic way to explore the Tour's rich history & gain insights into the fascinating world of competitive cycling.

The goal of challenge was to make an infographic-style visual to educate new viewers with aim to increase the race's popularity around the world, highlight the magnitude of the event, and build anticipation for this year's race.

The dataset was far from optimal, so I had to conduct a lot of data cleaning. It was difficult to format the text-based numerical data and time & date information properly. However, it gave me the chance to delve deeply into the power query's strengths & to master the M-language. Additionally, since Excel & Power Query cannot handle dates before 1900, figuring out the age of riders with DOBs prior to 1900 was a task in and of itself.
