Through a detailed examination of Singapore's government expenditures from 1997 to 2021, "Expenditure Explorer: Unraveling Singapore's Fiscal Landscape" uncovers the intricate patterns of fiscal allocations and their implications. The project highlights the dramatic surge in the Social Development sector's spending in 2020, particularly the Health Ministry, attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a time series line plot, it elucidates the trend of government expenditure over time and the marked divergence of actual health spending from forecasted values in 2020. Moreover, it ranks ministries by their GDP contributions using a bar chart, effectively conveying their relative impact on the economy. The project offers valuable insights into the Singapore government's spending behavior and response to a global health crisis.
