About this project

Delighted to unveil my entry for the Maven Analytics Tour de France data analysis challenge, crafted with Power BI!

My goal was to design an eye-catching infographic that not only enlightens first-time spectators but also showcases the event's magnitude and highlights the grandeur of this year's Tour de France

I've achieved my goal of creating an engaging infographic by dividing it into four captivating sections:

  1. Background - In this section I've provided a concise overview outlining the essence of this competition
  2. Tournament Stats - The inaugural match took place in 1903, comprising 6 stages covering a distance of 2428 km. Over the years, there have been fluctuations in both the number of stages and the total distance covered. In the latest edition held in 2022, the tournament featured 21 stages spanning a distance of 3484 km. The tournament is divided into 4 cycling stages namely - Flat Stage, Hilly Stage, Mountain Stage and Time Trial Stage. The track from Pau to Bordeaux track has been most frequently used for 18 times. Remarkably, the tournament has been running for 109 years, boasting an impressive overall completion rate of 59.74%.
  3. Players Stats : Eddy Merckx and Bernard Hinault have emerged as the most accomplished players in the tournament. Together, they have secured an impressive total of 5 France de Tour Championships each. Also Eddy has won 34 stages and Bernard captured 28 stages. Additionally, Jacques Anquetil and Miguel Indurain also share this distinguished record of 5 wins. France proudly holds the record for the highest number of victories with 36, followed by Belgium and Spain with 18 and 12 wins respectively.
  4. 2023 France de tour : The 2023 Tour de France is the 110th edition of the Tour de France. It started in Bilbao, Spain, on 1 July and will end with the final stage at Champs-Élysées, Paris, on 23 July. The 2023 Tour de France was generally expected to be a two-way fight between defending champion Jonas Vingegaardand two-time winner Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates).
