The project is on the analysis of COVID -19 in Nigeria as at 23rd April 2023 using the Microsoft power BI to create meaningful insights about total deaths,total cases ,new cases ,new death, recovering from symptoms and recommendations to reduce the virus. The following were insights generated ;
Total Cases : 266k
Total Death: 3,155
Total Recoveries: 259k
Total Active Cases : 4088
Total Discharged: 260k
Total Covid Test : 6M
Total Deaths by State (Top 5 ) :
Lagos( 771) has the highest record of deaths followed by Edo ( 322), FTC( 249) ,Oyo ( 202) and the least Rivers( 155)
Total Active Cases by State (Top 5):
Lagos has the highest active cases (1.5k) , Delta (0.5k) , Kwara ( 0.5k) , Nasarawa ( 0.4) and the least Ondo ( 0.3k)
Total Discharged by State :
Abia state has the highest number of discharged of patients with symptoms of the virus and the least Bayelsa
Proportion of Covid Test by State :
Lagos State has the highest proportion of Covid test ( 47.68%) , followed by FCT( 26.11%),then Rivers (17.67%) and the least Kaduna State (8.53%).
Total Deaths by State (Bottom 5) :
The follow are the states that had reduction of deaths Jigawa ( 18 deaths ) , Kebbi ( 16 deaths ) , Yobe ( 9 deaths ) Zamfara ( 9 deaths) and the least Kogi ( 2 deaths)
Total Recoveries by State ( Top 5 )
Lagos has the highest recoveries of patients with symptoms of Covid -19 Virus, followed by FCT , Rivers , Kaduna and the least Plateau.
Recommendations
More and more people should be encouraged to take the Vaccine to reduce the spread of the virus
There should be a public enlightenment about the myth of taking the vaccine
Thee with the high new cases of COVID-19 should continue to practice good hygiene and adhere to the virus restrictions.
Masks should be used when an individual is unwell at all times to reduce the spread of the virus.
