*This dashboard was completed as the course project for the Power BI for Desktop class.
The following outlines the step-by-step approach to constructing this Power BI dashboard, transforming raw CSV data into a comprehensive and interactive tool for analyzing key performance indicators, regional data, customer behavior, and revenue trends.
Data Import and Transformation:
- Started with raw data from a CSV file.
- Imported the data into Power BI using the Power Query Editor.
- Applied transformations to reshape and structure the data for analysis.
Relational Data Model:
- Created a relational data model to organize and connect different tables.
- Defined relationships between tables to establish connections based on common keys.
DAX Formulas:
- Utilized Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) to create calculated columns and measures.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Defined KPIs for tracking important metrics like sales, returns, profits, and revenue.
Interactive Dashboard for Analysis:
- Incorporated visualizations (charts, graphs, tables) to present the data in a meaningful way.
- Utilized slicers, filters, and drill-through functionalities for user interactivity.
Analysis:
- Regional. Dynamically compare regional revenue.
- Customer. Identify and highlight high-value customers. View customers by categories like age and profession.
- Products. Analyze and visualize trends at the product level.
Testing and Validation:
- Checked the accuracy of calculations and visualizations.
- Ensured that the dashboard meets the business requirements and provides valuable insights.
