__STYLES__
The datasets used in this project consist of two tables: resorts (all the details about the 499 ski resorts around the world); snow (snow cover of different regions around the world). Using these datasets, the participants must create a one-page dashboard to help skiers find their ideal ski destination around the world.
SlopeSearchers is a fictitious company which is in the business of building dashboards for its clients/skiers. The concept of the dashboard is to let the users customize the selection and pick the ski resort they want as a result of the criteria they set. I converted the selection criteria into 7 different steps so that the dashboard becomes interactive enough for the user.
Here are the complete details of each step:
SKI PASS - This step lets the user set their minimum and maximum budget for 1 adult for a 1-day ski pass (in Euro).
CHILD FRIENDLY - This step asks the user if they are planning to bring a child with them in their ski activity.
NIGHT SKIING - Indicates whether the user is planning to ski during the night.
SUMMER SKIING - Asks whether the user prefers a ski resort that offers summer skiing.
COUNTRY - This step allows the user to search for the country in which they want to ski.
MONTH - It sets the month on when the user plans to ski.
SKI RESORT - Finally, this step identifies which ski resort/s is available for the user to analyze as a result of the previous 6 steps.
CLEAR ALL SELECTION - This is a button created to allow users reset or clear all the filters they set.
Once the user has set the criteria and picked the ski resort he/she wants, a summary of all the details about the chosen ski resort is presented. In this summary, details about the ski resort's ski season, slopes, lift system, and snow features are available to be analyzed. From then on, the user/skier can now decide if he/she wants to go to that ski resort.
SKI RESORT'S SEASON
I also indicated the months on which each ski resort's season starts and ends.
SKI RESORT'S SLOPES
Longest Run (Kilometers) - This is the longest possible continuous run a skier can do in the ski resort.
Highest Point and Lowest Point (Meters) - It determines both the highest point and lowest point of the ski resort where skiers can ski.
Length of Slopes (Kilometers) - This shows how different slopes of the ski resort differ in terms of its length.
SKI RESORT'S LIFT SYSTEM
Lift System's Capacity (Person Per Hour) - This is the number of passengers the ski resort's lift system can accommodate in an hour.
Number of Lifts - It enumerates the different types of lifts and its quantity the ski resort has.
SKI RESORT'S SNOW FEATURES
Snow Cannons - The number of snow cannons that can be found in the ski resort.
Snowparks - It indicates whether the ski resort has snowparks (✓) or not (X).
