Decoding Workforce Dynamics: A Data-Driven Analysis of Performance, Satisfaction, and Churn

About this project

Project Overview

Problem Statement: The goal of this analysis is to uncover key factors influencing employee performance, satisfaction, and churn. By analyzing a diverse set of variables, the project aims to improve overall employee engagement, retention, and productivity within the organization.

Tools Used: Power BI

Approach:

  • Main Dashboard: Created a high-level dashboard summarizing key KPIs such as total employees, average performance scores, satisfaction scores, and churn rate. The dashboard allows users to drill down from annual to quarterly and monthly trends.
  • Detailed Performance & Productivity Analysis (Page 2): Explored the relationship between performance scores, productivity (in terms of projects handled), and various independent factors (numerical and categorical) such as salary, team size, and department.
  • Satisfaction & Churn Analysis (Page 3): Analyzed key factors driving employee satisfaction and churn rates, identifying both the major contributors and the elements with minimal impact.

Insights Drawn:

  • Performance Insights: Performance scores are strongly influenced by factors like team size and project load but are largely unaffected by gender, salary, and overtime hours.
  • Satisfaction Insights: Employee satisfaction improves with higher salaries and additional training but is minimally affected by overtime hours and remote work frequency.
  • Churn Insights: Churn rates increase significantly with longer tenure and lower performance scores but show little variation across departments and job titles.
  • Productivity Insights: Employees managing a higher number of projects tend to show a slight decline in satisfaction and performance, while training hours have a limited impact on productivity.
