About this project

Goals: The primary goal of this project was to create a comprehensive dashboard that visualizes sales performance data. This involved identifying key metrics, trends, and insights to support strategic decision-making and improve overall sales efficiency.

Business Needs: The project aimed to address several key business needs:

  1. Performance Tracking: Monitor the number of items sold in different areas and by each sales representative.
  2. Profit Analysis: Evaluate the net profit generated in each area to identify high-performing regions.
  3. Price Monitoring: Track the price fluctuations of each item over time.
  4. Revenue Analysis: Analyze the revenue generated by each item to understand product performance.
  5. Data Aggregation: Summarize and present aggregated data for quick insights.

Discovery and Presentation of Insights:

  1. Data Collection: Gathered sales data from various sources, including sales records and financial reports.
  2. Data Cleaning: Ensured the data was clean and free from errors or inconsistencies.
  3. Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Conducted EDA to understand the underlying structure of the data and identify initial patterns.
  4. Visualization: Created a dashboard using Power BI to present the data in a visually appealing and easily understandable manner. The dashboard included:
    • Bar charts showing the number of items sold in each area and by each representative.
    • Tables displaying net profit in each area and revenue of each item.
    • Line graphs tracking the price of each item over time.
  5. Reporting: Compiled the insights into comprehensive reports that included visualizations, interpretations, and recommendations.

By following these steps, the project successfully delivered valuable insights that met the business needs and supported the goals of improving sales performance and strategic decision-making.
