About this project

Global CO2 Emissions Dashboard

This project analyzes over 250 years of global CO2 emissions data from 1750 to 2021, offering a comprehensive view of how fossil fuel emissions have evolved across countries. Using Tableau, I created an interactive dashboard to visualize trends, patterns, and the relationship between CO2 emissions and population.

The dataset contains over 50,000 records and 79 fields, profiling CO2 emissions at the global and country levels. The dashboard consists of three key visualizations:

  1. Line Chart – Displays the percentage of total CO2 emissions by year for the top 10 countries, using a custom Top N parameter.
  2. Map – Highlights CO2 per capita by country for the year 2021, with errors and null values removed for accuracy.
  3. Scatter Plot – Compares CO2 emissions and population by country, with bubble sizes indicating temperature change due to CO2. A linear regression trend line is added for deeper insights.

The interactive dashboard allows users to explore the data by filtering countries and adjusting parameters, providing an intuitive way to understand global CO2 impact. Insights from the project reveal interesting trends, including how certain countries contribute disproportionately to emissions over time and how population dynamics influence these numbers.
