NNPC INCIDENT ANALYSIS

About this project

These Insights delves deep into the occurrences and patterns of incidents within the central, western, eastern, and operator corridors. This project presents a meticulous examination of a total of 2,095 incidents, providing stakeholders with critical insights into pipeline security and operational efficiency.

Key Insights:

  1. Total Incidents:
    • The analysis reveals a total of 2,095 incidents across all corridors, underscoring significant operational challenges and areas requiring immediate attention.
  2. Top Incident Types:
    • The most frequent incident types are IR, IC, and Theft, highlighting key areas where security and monitoring need enhancement.
  3. Pipeline Analysis:
    • Pipelines such as TNP, BRASS, and NCTL have the highest number of incidents, indicating specific segments that are particularly vulnerable and may benefit from targeted interventions.
  4. Volume Insights:
    • The total volumes of various materials transported through these pipelines are detailed, including:
      • PMS: 30,000 units
      • H.C: 11 million units
      • AGO: 2 million units
      • DPK: 88,000 units
    • These figures provide a clear picture of the operational scale and potential risks associated with each material type.
  5. Corridor-Specific Incidents:
    • The Eastern corridor leads with 822 incidents, followed closely by the Central corridor with 818 incidents, and the Western corridor with 455 incidents. This corridor-specific breakdown allows for focused risk management and resource allocation.

Conclusion: Pipeline Incident Insights offers a strategic overview of the current state of pipeline operations, identifying critical vulnerabilities and areas for improvement. By understanding the distribution and nature of incidents, stakeholders can implement targeted measures to enhance pipeline security and operational efficiency, ultimately ensuring safer and more reliable pipeline management. This project serves as an essential tool for pipeline operators, security personnel, and policymakers aiming to mitigate risks and optimize pipeline performance.
