Problem Statement:

In this project we are trying to analyze a dataset comprising over 2000 records stored in an Excel file. This dataset encompasses information pertaining to product sales and customer information.

  • The objective is to extract valuable insights and meaningful trends embedded within this dataset. Specifically, the analysis aims to find out patterns related to product offerings, sales performance metrics and customer preferences.
  • Moreover, the project seeks to leverage the insights derived from the dataset to identify and evaluate potential new product categories that align with prevailing market demand.

By diving into the nuances of consumer behavior and market dynamics, the analysis tries to pinpoint strategic opportunities for diversification and expansion within the product portfolio.

Important Insights:

  • Overall return rate is 2.2% showing a decent customer satisfaction
  • Water bottle being top selling product mention figure, is indicating good product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Sport helmet has the highest return rate (3.33%) suggesting major flaws with the product quality
  • Top customer Maurice has the most contribution of 43.4% in total orders showing strong customer loyalty
  • Maximum orders are from US signaling strong market presence and an opportunity for expansion and diversification
  • Monthly orders dropped by 0.88% as compared to previous month, conveying a need for targeted marketing efforts.
