Objective:

The goal of this project is to easily track the progress of each of my students during each coding unit throughout the school year.

Process:

1. I created a Google Form for the students to fill out their basic information (Email, First Name, Last Name, Class Period). NOTE: Some of this information has been modified or excluded to comply with Confidentiality Laws (FERPA).

2. I updated the Google Form Settings so that the Form only allows one response from a particular email address, however, that response can be edited. This reduced the amount of duplicates and sorting needed in later steps.

3. I updated the Google Form to include a multiple-choice grid that allows the students to select from 3 options (Not Started, In Progress, Complete!) to indicate the level of completion for each Lesson in the Unit.Edit View

4. I linked the Google Form to a Google Sheets document.

5. In Google Sheets, I sorted responses by Last Name, A -> Z then by Class Period A -> Z. (See FERPA note above)

6. I added conditional formatting to make it easier to see the progress "at a glance".

7. Each day, the​ students are responsible for updating their progress through the Google Form. Their response is then updated on the Google Sheets document.

8. I created a Dashboard to track how the entire Class Period or ALL Class Periods are doing as a group. I used the COUNTIF Function to find the Completion Percentage for each Class Period and for ALL Class Periods.

9. I used FILL (horizontally) to copy the Formula to cells for the entire Unit. I added Conditional Formatting to show when certain thresholds were reached (< 70, 70 - 94, >95).

10. This is the final result. The highlighted section would be an example of today's assignment.
