A Quadrant View of the State of Kenya’s SDG Achievement and Progress as of 2023

For a better snapshot of achievement and progress, I devised a holistic ranking system that takes into account both the current state of achievement and the progress being made for each of the 17 SDGs. Notably, these are not progressing at the same rate, which highlights the need for a more targeted approach that addresses the specific challenges faced by each.

I first created a ranking score for all the 17 SDGs. I assigned the current state of achievement based on what was provided on the Sustainable Development Report These were assigned 1-Red, 2-Amber, 3-Lime and 4-Green to highlight four levels of achievement. I then rated the corresponding progress assigned to each goal from 1- 4 as follows: 1-Decreasing, 2-Stagnating, 3 – Moderately Improving 4-On Track/Maintaining
