The goals of this project is estimating whether Apple could reach net-zero emission target in 2030 or not.
In 2015, Apple produces emission of 38.4 M kgCO2, which is very high comparing to the latest year. To achieve net-zero emission in 2030, Apple set two commitments which are:
- Reduce the total emission by 75% in 15 years (2015-2030). If the emission in 2015 is 38.4M, the the emission in 2030 should be 9.6M. Emission metrics is generated from activity that release emission, such as manufacturing, product use, transportation, etc.
- Increase the total carbon removal from 0 in 2015 to be 9.6M in 2030. Carbon Removal metrics is generated from activity that absorb emission, such as planting tree, etc.
This project will outlined those two commitments towards the line chart and gauge chart progress.
Beside analyze the progress of emission and carbon removal, this projects also highlights:
- Company performance chart, from revenue, market capitalization, and employees.
- Comparing the emission source in 2015 and emission source in 2022.
