Data/Approach This was another clean data set, this time we had 7 tables to work with. What I love most about PowerBI is the ease in which you can perform feature engineering. Wouldn't say there is no ease with other tools, rather the seamlessness is noticeable. Given the data set, I took the opportunity to leverage Bookmarks(links on the right panel including clear filters, map, products, etc.), slicers, Top N and Rolling Calendar.
Business Case
Insights This is a small set of data, only ~2900 records, so only a few things really stand out. There are individual customers in North America and Europe that account for a substantial portion of the South America business. Will probably want to make sure the care team for those individuals is top notch. Also, 91 customers, but 89 orders would indicate that there are some issues with keeping the customers active/engaged. That's probably priority #1. It would also be great if someone figures out how to sell more Cote de Blaye as that represents ~10% of revenue!
Impact Creating dynamic dashboards increases the likelihood of user engagement. There are probably a number of changes that could make this dashboard more appealing, but the functionality (bookmarks, KPI indicators, data bars) influence the end-user in a positive way. One of those ways might include embracing ownership such that they will provide feedback on what they would like included.
