Purpose:
The Pizza Place has hired Trisha to analyze various metrics from their pizza restaurant. They need Trisha’s help to decide which pizzas are ordered the most and which ones generate the most revenue, what times of day they need to have more staff and which ingredients they need to make sure they have on stock for the most popular pizzas. They have operated their business well for their first year but want to continue to do well.

What ingredients does the restaurant need to make sure they have on hand to make the top 10 ordered pizzas?

Best sales by month: July, March, May, and November are all in the $69 to $70,000 ranges. The worst months seem to be September, October, and December. I would recommend coupons or incentives, such as buy one get one half off or similar promotion to get more customers in the doors on the slower months. The overall trend is going down slightly. They may want to consider reducing the number of pizzas on the menu or have 15 to 20 core pizzas and a “make your own” option with some of the most popular ingredients. Right now, they have 32 different pizzas which may be overwhelming to some customers.

Results: Dinner and lunch are the times for the highest number of orders, staff schedules should reflect this higher traffic for lunch times and diner times with adequate staffing to fill orders in the mid-afternoon as well as late night.

7.Which size pizza sells most often? Large and medium pizzas have the most orders. They may want to consider specials at lunch time for small pizzas or other promotions to boost sales.
