Power BI Dashboard

About this project

I am thrilled to announce that I have just completed my latest Power BI project, and I can't wait to share it with all of you! šŸŽ‰šŸ“Š

For this project, I decided to tackle the Maven Northwind Traders Challenge dataset as a way to enhance my Power BI skills. The Northwind Traders dataset provides a rich and complex set of data, making it a perfect opportunity to dive deep into Power BI's capabilities.

I must give credit where credit is due, and I drew inspiration from the incredible project by Mr. Patrice Fayard. His innovative approach and attention to detail motivated me to push my boundaries and strive for excellence. It's amazing how we can learn from each other's work and grow together as a community! šŸ‘

šŸ“š Key Learnings from the Project! šŸ“ŠšŸ’”

1ļøāƒ£ Leveraging the Power of Unichar and Format Function for Employee Profiles: In this project, I aimed to create a comprehensive employee profile that showcases important information in an appealing and user-friendly format. To achieve this, I discovered the power of the Unichar and Format functions in Power BI. By utilizing Unichar, I was able to show different information related to employees on different lines. Additionally, the Format function allowed me to control the display format of various data elements, such as dates, currency values, and percentages, ensuring consistency and accuracy in the presentation of information. These techniques enabled me to create visually engaging employee profiles that provided valuable insights at a glance.

2ļøāƒ£ Utilizing DAX for Custom Visualizations and Conditional Formatting: In the project, I aimed to go beyond standard visualizations and create unique data representations. This led me to explore the power of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) in Power BI. Specifically, I experimented with DAX to implement custom visualizations and conditional formatting. For instance, I wanted to dynamically highlight the background color of cards based on the previous year's (LY) values. By using DAX measures and conditional formatting rules, I achieved the desired effect.

Thanks & Best Regards.
