Grand Stores is a global online foodstuff store headquartered in the United States.
It has a broad range of products and that fall under fourteen (14) different product sub-categories.
The analysis seeks to show the performance of Grand Stores in terms of sales and profit generated by answering the following business questions:
a) What are the sales and profit trends for Grand Stores in 2014?
b) Who are the stores' top 10 customers by revenue? Who are the top 10 most profitable customers?
c) How much revenue (sales) and profit are generated by each salesperson?
d) How much revenue (sales) and profit are generated in each region?
e) What is the total revenue and profit generated on each order?
KEY INSIGHTS
The company generated the highest revenue in December ($66.6k), June ($55.6k), and October ($53.0k) respectively, but generated the lowest sales in February 2014 ($20.0k).
The top 3 customers by revenue were Company D ($67.2K), Company H ($50.2K), and Company BB ($43.7K).
Grand Stores made the highest sales in the Northern region ($124.5k), while the lowest sales were from the Western region ($59.5k)
The top 3 salespersons by revenue were Nancy Freehafer ($104.2k), Anne Larsen ($93.8k), and Andrew Cencini ($67.2k).
Similar results were seen across all fields for profit generated.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Top-performing salespersons should be rewarded with incentives. Grand Stores should also organize capacity-building sessions where these salespersons can tutor and mentor their low-performing counterparts on effective marketing and sales strategies.
Top-performing customers should be rewarded with incentives such as loyalty points, free gift items, and referral bonuses.
Further research should be conducted to profile the most valuable customers and the findings should be used to create marketing strategies and messaging that resonate with the company's ideal customers.
Research should be conducted to identify factors and effective strategies that contribute to high sales and profit in the northern region and these strategies should be replicated in the Western region.
