Description:

The e-commerce retail industry has experienced exponential growth in recent years and as a data analyst, I had the opportunity to contribute to the success of an e-commerce retail company through this analytical project. This project focused on analyzing various aspects of the company's operations, profitability trends, segmentation analysis customer purchase behavior to drive data-driven decision-making and improve overall business performance.

Objective of the Project:

The primary objective of this e-commerce retail analytical project was to gain insights into the company's product performance by various segments and profitability trend. The project aimed to identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to optimize business operations, increase profit and enhance customer experience.

Business Needs:

What is the number of customers who made orders within the stipulated period?

How many order quantities were made within the stipulated period?

What is the total amount of discounts applied to orders?

What is the total profit generated within the stipulated period?

How much did the company spend on shipping costs?

Display the yearly profit trend and make projection?

Display the monthly profit trend?

Display the weekly profit trend?

Which age generation contributed the most to the profits?

How does the profit vary across different customer segments?

How does the profit vary across different regions?

Methodology:

The project began by extracting sales transaction-csv file into power-bi desktop. This rich dataset provided a comprehensive view of the company's e-commerce operations, encompassing aspects such as sales, product performance and customer demographics.

Proper cleaning and transformation was done on the dataset with the use of power query editor.

Using various analytical techniques including statistical analysis, data mining, and visualization, I analyzed the collected data to extract valuable insights and Key performance indicators (KPIs) were identified to measure the company's performance.
