The objective

This dashboard shows an overview of the main KPIs of the XYZ sales and salesmen performance. The KPIs were. It was a part of the Data analysis foundation course completion requirements. The dashboard calculations and KPIs were mostly as requested but the model and design was done by the course participant. I tried to highlight whether the sales meet expectations or not? where did most of the sales come from? what caused most of the income? who is the best performer and how did they do compared to others?

The data

  • 1 CSV file
  • 1 XLSX file
  • 1 access database file

The analysis

The analysis was mostly effected by my background in projects monitoring and tracking that's why I chose metrics that help track the sales' current performance answering the questions of :

  • Is the performance good or bad?
  • When did the performance start getting this good/ bad?
  • Is it still better than last year?
  • What products drove the most sales/ revenue?
  • Which salesman made the most sales?
  • Which salesman won new customers the most customers?
  • Where are we from the achieving the target?

The visuals

Time series visuals were selected to represent performance over time for sales and salesmen. while scorecard visuals were selected to highlight the important KPIs of the selected year. The ability to filter by date, country and salesman was enabled to enable a more focused analysis.

Key insights

As the data provided was by the end of 2009, the results show that the targets were achieved and the best performer and top selling product are Daniel and Halter dress respectively. However the dashboard can also be put into use if used for monitoring purpose.

Comments

I had to do this dashboard with a partner it took about 8-10 hours of work to complete so we ended within the first 3 teams to complete the task. It was quite basic and the feedback was positive by the end of the course.
