Indian Batsmen's Sensational Performance in T20Is - 2021-2022 Recap!

TASK

To develop two page interactive dashboard showing Indian batsman performance in t20i's from year 2021 to 2022

NEED

To gain insights into the standout performers leading up to the T20 World Cup 2022.

APPROACH

Data collection and Preparation:

1. Downloaded the t20i deliveries dataset from cricsheet.com in the csv format.
2. Applied filter to get the dataset of year 2021-2022.Organize the data in a structured format suitable for dashboard visualization.

Dashboard Design and Layout:

1. Design an intuitive and user-friendly interface for the interactive dashboard.
2. Create multiple pages within the dashboard where 1st page focus on the batting performance all the Indian Batsman with respect to Runs, Strike Rate, Average, no. of dismissals, Balls per boundary,Balls per dismissal with various filters.
3. In the 2nd page one can get to know particulars batsman performance like Runs, Strike Rate, Average, no. of dismissals, Balls per boundary, Balls per dismissal against each bowling type and bowlers
4. Plan the layout to accommodate various visualizations, filters, and sorting options.

Interactive Filters and Sorting:

1. Incorporate filters based on criteria such as batting order, bowling team, bowling type, bowler, season to make it more meaningful.

CHALLENGE

Initially, I encountered challenges in adding filters to all the sheets. However, I managed to overcome this obstacle and learned how to successfully apply filters to all the sheets in dashboards through this project.

SOLUTIONS

I explored the dashboard settings and discovered the option to sync filters across multiple sheets. By enabling this feature, I was able to seamlessly apply filters to all the sheets simultaneously, providing a cohesive and comprehensive analysis experience.

INSIGHTS

1. Highest Run Scorer: Suryakumar emerged as the top performer in terms of runs scored during this phase, maintaining an impressive strike rate.
2. Analysis of Bowler-Specific Performance: The dashboard provides users with the opportunity to delve into the performance of Indian batsmen against various bowlers.
3. Evaluation of Bowling Styles: Evaluate the performance of Indian batsmen against different categories of bowlers and identify specific styles that posed challenges or were relatively easier to handle for them.

CONCLUSION

1. Through this dashboard users can identify top performers, assess consistency, and track the progress of Indian batsmen throughout the season.
2. Users can analyze individual batsmen's averages, strike rates, and runs scored against specific bowlers to identify their strengths and weaknesses in facing different bowling styles.
