About this project

Some of the data (e.g., ease of use and satisfaction) are taken based on reviews given by those who have used the medicines and can be found in the database

Before we start to analyze the dashboard in more detail I am going to give some additional details to better understand the dashboard itself:

  1. OTC: medicines available without a prescription.
  2. RX: medicines available only with a prescription
  3. RX/OTC: medicines available in both modes seen above

Once we have defined the types of medicines we can start digging deeper.

The 4 types of charts we see are:

1)Average ease of use by form: here we see on average ease of use according to the form of the medicine (liquid, cream, etc.); we see right away that liquid medicines given by injection are the most difficult to take while the other types of medicines have more or less the same ease of use (due to the differences in taking, as medicines given by injection need more attention in dispensing than the others)

2)Average satisfaction by type: here we see if there is a relationship from the point of view of satisfaction by looking at whether the drug is prescribed or not, we see that people are more satisfied with the drug in the case where it is not prescribed by the doctor than in the case where it is prescribed

3)Average price by drug type and form: here we see the average price of medicines by form and type: we see that liquid (injection) type prescribed medicines have a higher cost on average than other medicines ($872 on average) while the medicine with the lowest average price is the liquid (drinking) RX/OTC type with an average price of $15.4

4)Average price by condition: here we see the average price of medicines by condition, we see that the disease with the "highest cost" is adenocarcinoma of the pancreas with an average price for medicines to be used for this disease of $2543, the disease with the "lowest cost" on the other hand is Deniere's disease (which affects the inner ear and causes tinnitus, temporary deafness and exhaustion) with an average price of $6 for the purchase of related medicines

That is all, if you have further curiosity about this you will find everything on the Tableau Public page.

Have a nice day ☀️
