European Football Leagues: Dashboard

We have been presented with a large dataset containing data on the football matches of various European competitions over the past 20 years! From this data we need to create a dashboard that can allow the pundits to drill down on specific leagues or seasons.

In order to allow comparisons between leagues, we will present the average goals per game across leagues. And to allow for comparison between teams, we will show two key visuals. Winrate and the number of goals scored for the top 10 teams in each category.

To do this, we will need to clean and filter our data to remove duplicates, matches that are scheduled for the future, and matches that are from competitions besides our 5 leagues. Then we will transform the data from wide to long format and create new columns for the fields that of interest.

We will run all of these operations in Power Query and then with the Query Result, we are ready to create our visualizations based on the precise and accurate dataset that we have made. We will be sure to colour code and format the entire dashboard consistently so that the insights can be understood easily at a glance.
