About this project

Getting ready:

Filtered, formatted, separated the columns, and eliminated superfluous information from the provided tables to prepare the data for analysis.

Combined tables for additional research. Added a customized column to determine how many days every patient spent in the medical facility.

Evaluation:

A total of 27891 visits were made by 974 patients.

Of the 974 patients, 854 returned for additional care or follow-ups.

Throughout the years 2011–2022, 167 of them were admitted in the hospital one or more times.

74 of them were readmitted over time.

3.64K is the average cost per visit.

Hospital days on average amount to 0.3.

Only 820 of the 974 patients are alive.

The most widely utilized insurance was Medicare.

Thirteen percent or so of the patients do not have insurance.

A greater number of patients come from Boston City.

Insurance coverage is extensive for the prenatal checkup and examination procedure.

Less money was paid by insurance for urgent care visits. The greatest difference between total claim and total coverage occurred in the case of an urgent care facility, where total claim exceeded total coverage by $20,284,429.79. Electrical cardioversion is covered more after medical reconciliation treatment.

The relationship between overall coverage and total claim is positive.41.49% of total coverage was accounted for by ambulatory care.
