About this project

Important takeaways from the Maven Analytics Coffee Sales Dashboard Guided Project.

Preparation:

Added new columns:

1.Revenue by calculating price*quantity

2.Month and Day of Week based on the transaction date

3.Hour from the transaction time

Exploration:

Inserted a PivotTable on a new tab to show revenue by month

Added more Pivot tables to show the number of transactions by day of week and by hour of day

Added another PivotTable for the number of transactions by product category, sorted descending by transactions.

Added one more PivotTable to show the number of transactions and revenue by product type, sorted descending and filtered to the Top 15 (by transactions)

All the pivot tables are in the same sheet.

Visualization:

Added Pivot Charts:

1.revenue by month as a line chart

2.Transactions by day of week and hour of day as column charts

3.transactions by product category as a bar chart

Arranged the charts nicely and included PivotTable showing Top 15 product types to it.

Also added a slicer for store location and connect it to all of the PivotTables on the sheet.

Fascinating tendencies and patterns:

  1. June is a month with good revenue for all locations.
  2. From 7 to 10 AM, Lower Manhattan and Astoria have their busiest hours.
  3. The most popular product in each of the three stores is coffee, followed by tea.

4.The top three selling product type are the same in each of the three location
