PARIS 2024 SUMMER OLYMPICS MEDAL TABLE DASHBOARD

About this project

The 2024 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, are an ongoing international multi-sport event being held in Paris, France from 26 July to 11 August 2024, with preliminary events in some sports beginning on 24 July. Athletes representing 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) are participating in the games. The games feature 329 events across 32 sports and 48 disciplines. Breaking (breakdancing) is making its Olympic debut as an optional sport, while skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing returned to the programme, having debuted at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Overall, individuals representing 82 NOCs have received at least one medal, with 57 of them winning at least one gold medal. Botswana, Dominica, Guatemala, and Saint Lucia won their nations' first Olympic gold medals. Cape Verde, Dominica, the Refugee Olympic Team, and Saint Lucia won their nations' first Olympic medals.

Among individual participants, Chinese swimmer Zhang Yufei currently holds the lead for most medals at the 2024 games with six (one silver, five bronze), while French swimmer Léon Marchand has the most gold medals with four. SOURCE: Wikipedia

I have created a Dashboard using Power BI Desktop and Microsoft Excel to represent data from the 2024 Olympics Medal Table. The medal table is based on information provided by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and is consistent with IOC conventional sorting in its published medal tables.

The source data for Dashboard in Power BI Desktop and Excel is from the Wikipedia.org website, specifically from this website: 2024 Summer Olympics Medal Table

The visuals on the dashboard are refreshed regularly when the source data is updated on the Wikipedia website.

All one needs to do to get the latest data or update for the medal table is to click on Refresh Button on the HOME TAB in Power BI Desktop App, and click on the Data Tab on the Ribbon in Microsoft Excel and click REFRESH ALL. I would share the Power BI file or the Excel Workbook with anyone that wants it. Just send me a message.
