Lagos Flood Prediction using Python.

The people living in Lagos, one of Africa’s largest cities, confront a growing challenge of severe annual flooding exacerbated by rising sea levels and sinking land, sinking at a rate of approximately 87 mm annually. Trying to expect the flooding dates will warn them to take te suitable precautions in theses dates. In this report I have tried to predict the flood based on precipitation amount .

Methdology

1- Defining very heavy rain as the rain that is more than 50 mm/h in excel by If function

2- Cleaning the data set in Python

3- Find the correlation between flood occurrence and the other parameters , there was no strong correlation except with precipitation and rain probability.

4- Graphing the number of floods that occurred each year

5- Finding the months in which the floods most probably occurs which is usually May, June , July.

6- Modelling after loading the future predictions and clean the data set

7- Flood prediction was at 10-11/7 due to the heavy rainfall

By providing early warning in these dates , people must take their precautions
