MGH Executive Insights Dashboard

The primary goal of this project was to develop an interactive Power BI dashboard that visualizes key performance indicators (KPIs) for Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).

MGH required a data-driven approach to monitor and improve operational efficiency and patient outcomes. Key business needs included:

• How many patients have been admitted or readmitted over time?
• How long are patients staying in the hospital, on average?
• How much is the average cost per visit?
• How many procedures are covered by insurance?

To meet these needs, the project involved:

1. Data Collection and Preparation: Extracting and cleaning patient records, ensuring data accuracy for reliable analysis.
2. Interactive Visualizations: Creating a series of visualizations.
3. Filtering: Implementing interactive filters to allow users to explore data by specific criteria such as date ranges, patient demographics, and procedure types.
4. Top N Analysis: Highlighting the top 10 most common procedures to focus on significant data points.
5. Percentage Metrics: Calculating and displaying the percentage of procedures covered by insurance to evaluate financial efficiency.
