Analyzing sales trend for an electronic shop was the scope of Dec. 22 DataDNA challenge. An year worth of sales was given, with the goal of providing insights on sales, revenue, and cross-sales among products. Cross-selling is normally referred to in Power Bi as Basket Analysis (BA). BA helps understanding relationships between events, the most classical example being purchasing behaviors, but can be applied in many fields (e.g., sport, music, logistic etc.). I used this dataset to explore BA with PowerBi, a very complex yet fascinating concept. The use of Dynamic Filters and slicers allow the user to explore the dashboard troughout different metrics (revenue, transactions, items sold) and time measure (monthly level only for sake of simplicity). KPI are presented at top left, with top products by individual or combined performance are shown on the right. The bottom 3 visuals allow exploration of performance of cities, top hour of sales and product sales by different metrics. Slicers at top of the page facilitate the slicing of data. Intentionally, the yearly revenue trend has no interaction with other tools in the dashboard, to provide a constant feeling of how the year went on.
