New York City Airbnb Tableau Project

Goal: The goal of this project was to create a Tableau dashboard to monitor and analyze Airbnb data for New York City. The focus was on understanding bookings, reviews, room types, and neighborhood trends to support strategic decision-making for hosts and potential guests.

Insights:

1. Total Bookings by Room Type and Neighborhood: Monitored total bookings across different room types (entire home/apt, private room, shared room) and neighborhood groups (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island).
2. Average Reviews per Month: Evaluated the average number of reviews per month for different room types and neighborhood groups.
3. Price Analysis: Analyzed average prices by neighborhood and room type.
4. Top Hosts by Total Reviews: Identified the top 10 hosts based on the total number of reviews.
5. Geographical Distribution: Provided a map view of Airbnb listings across New York City neighborhoods.
6. Monthly and Yearly Trends: Analyzed trends in reviews and bookings over time.

Discovering and Presenting Insights:

1. Data Collection and Organization: Gathered Airbnb data, including bookings, reviews, room types, prices, and neighborhood information, and organized it for analysis.
2. Data Visualization: Used Tableau to create a dashboard with visual elements such as bar charts, heatmaps, tree maps, and maps to represent Airbnb data.
3. Trend Analysis: Conducted analysis to identify trends and patterns in bookings, reviews, and prices over time.
4. Interactive Features: Implemented interactive features allowing users to filter data by neighborhood group, room type, and time period, enhancing the ability to explore and understand Airbnb metrics.

This project provides valuable insights to understand Airbnb booking and review trends, identify top-performing neighborhoods and room types, and support strategic decisions for hosts and guests through a user-friendly and interactive Tableau dashboard.
