I analyzed variation that has occurred in the temperature and rainfall throughout the century. Also, some factors led to an increase in Australian Fires. There is an analysis of the climate change in cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide etc.
The following domains are studied to understand the causal reasons for fire:
Temperature & Rainfall pattern of Australia throughout various Years?
Which regions are more prone to Fire?
The temperature pattern of Australia for many years has been changing at a regular pace. Some cities are termed as coldest and some are hottest. While there are some that remain in between both the categories. On visualizing the temperature pattern , we can say that average Australia’s temperature lies between 17.50 C— 27 C and it is rising in last few years. The lowest average Temperature cities are Melbourne, Canberra and Port where the average temperature varies between 17.5 C — 21 C. On the other hand, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane have high average temperature varying from 21 C — 27 C.
The rainfall in Australia is playing a major role in changing the climate. Some of the cities receive maximum rainfall while some cities receive the least rainfall. The graphs gives us an idea about the Density of amount of rainfall across Australia from year 1919–2019. It can be observed from the graph that the amount of rainfall in Adelaide has 2.5 mm of rainfall with very high density of occurrence at 1.5 compared to other cities. Melbourne, Canberra and Perth received good rainfall with high occurrence of more than 1 for rainfall between 1.5 mm to 2mm.
From various temperture & Rainfall graphs, we see that in the last 4 years, Sydney is the most affected city by bush fires as compared to other affected cities because there is an increase in temperature and decrease in rainfall density spontaneously with each increasing year.
