Great American Coffee Taste Test Survey Analysis

About this project

Embark on a flavorful journey into the world of coffee preferences with my comprehensive survey analysis. My goal was to uncover insights about our target audiences' coffee consumption habits and preferences to better tailor our offerings. Through meticulous data analysis, I unearthed fascinating findings:

  1. Target Audience Profile: Nearly 75% of our respondents, representing a significant demographic slice, fall within the 25-44 age bracket, with diverse coffee habits ranging from 1-2 cups daily.
  2. Preferred Coffee Drinking Locations: Over 90% of our audience enjoys their coffee at home, suggesting opportunities in home-based subscription services or brewing kits.
  3. Coffee Expertise and Caffeine Preference: Despite varying expertise levels, a staggering 90% of respondents prefer full caffeine content.
  4. Taste Preferences: Pour over emerged as the most popular brewing technique, indicating a refined palate among our audience.
  5. Coffee Price Limits: A notable percentage is willing to pay premium prices, with 21.9% comfortable with $8-10 per cup, and 16.3% comfortable up to $15.
  6. Cafe Value Perception: While 51% find good value in cafe coffee, there's room for improvement to address uncertainties and enhance the overall experience.

Our dataset, comprising responses from approximately 4,000 Americans, stemmed from a blind taste test led by renowned coffee expert James Hoffmann and Cometeer. By blending single-select, multiple-choice, number scale, yes/no, and open-ended questions, I captured nuanced insights into coffee preferences. Join me in unlocking the secrets of coffee connoisseurship and shaping future strategies with data-driven precision.
