The Pizza Place Dashboard

About this project

The goal of this project to was to give a very high level look at the performance of Pizza Place. The data was first loaded into a SQL database to do exploratory data analysis on the data. From there, a query was written to acquire the data from the database instead of connecting to PowerBI directly to build a data model.

In my opinion, the important KPIs were:

-Revenue -Total Orders -Pizzas per Order

  • Revenue per Order

These were shown in cards to give the user a quick glance at the data. The dashboard is time delimited and ontrolled by a slicer that allows the user to set a date range for review.

Quantity ordered was broken out by pizza size and pizza category to give the user an idea of what the customers orders may look like at a high level. The pizza type distribution is shown in the tree map that tells the user the share of sales for that specific pizza type.

Some uses for this high level dashboard would be: -Finding opportunities to offer sales on days where sales lag -Find products that aren't selling well to determine if the business should promote or discontinue the product -Determine if it is advantageous to offer the number of sizes currently available

Future expansions based on the data available could include: -Looking at time series data to determine when the business is busy -Look at day of the week data to determine if there are marketing opportunities
