The Goal: to create an interactive dashboard or visual that lets users explore the history and evolution of LEGO sets from the past 5 decades.
Interesting takeaways:
Modern Minifigs were first released in 1978.
Minifig-only sets were first released in 1997.
Licensed LEGO sets came on the scene in 1999.
Constraction is "constructable action figures."
A standardized approach to the "theme," "subtheme," "themeGroup," and "category" fields may be helpful for the website owner (and analysts).
Feedback appreciated
Hi, I'm still learning, and if you have helpful feedback, I'd be grateful if you left it for me.
- I know - this dashboard is more vertical than horizontal, which isn't the usual preference.
- Some things I wanted to do but couldn't quite figure out (or figure out if they were possible)
- I wanted to be able to have the description of a theme populate in the dashboard when the user selected that Theme in the slicer. Since I couldn't figure that out, the list is included in the dash, which I don't really like but it seemed like important information.
- I wanted to be able to filter by subtheme only once a theme had been selected.
- I thought it would be cool for a (possibly randomized, but limited to what is being explored) image to appear as the user filtered through the information.
