Hypothesis Testing: Lung Cancer Patients in the USA (Impact of Race/Gender/Age)

About this project

The Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) Program by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) provides information on cancer statistics that underpins efforts to reduce the cancer burden among the U.S. population.

This project deals with a dataset of 1000 Lung Cancer patients sourced from the SEER Program. Here, I try to find answers to some basic questions like: Does being from a particular Age group or Race or Gender have any influence on being diagnosed with Lung Cancer or the survival status thereafter?

We will initially state our Null hypothesis, followed by a suitable statistical test to "reject" or "fail to reject" the Null Hypothesis.
