COFFEE SHOP SALES DASHBOARD

About this project

Business Case for Maven Coffee Shop Analysis:

The Maven Coffee Shop analysis is initiated to provide a comprehensive understanding of the business's performance and consumer behavior over the first six months. The primary objectives are to extract actionable insights that can inform strategic decisions, optimize operational efficiency, and enhance overall profitability.

Project Task:

  • Data collection, cleaning, and preparation
  • Analyse monthly, daily, and hourly sales patterns with Power PivotTables.
  • Determine high-performing days and times.
  • Develop compelling reports and visualization
  • Create an Interactive dashboard

Key Objectives:

Revenue Assessment: The highest revenue of the month is June and the highest revenue location is in Hell's Kitchen which is $ 56,957.

Transaction Patterns: The majority of transactions take place from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., indicating a peak in morning sales. High transaction volumes have been observed on Monday, Thursday, and Friday, signaling increased customer engagement on these specific days. It's worth noting that sales in Lower Manhattan are comparatively lower than in other store locations.

Product and Category Performance: As per the data from all three stores, coffee and tea exhibit the highest transaction rates.

Top-Selling Products: The top two revenue-generating products are Barista Espresso and Brewed Chai Tea.

Beverage Preferences: Consumer choices in beverages, emphasizing the preferences for items such as Brewed Chai Tea and Barista Espresso.

Recommendations:

  1. Strategic Focus on June and Hell's Kitchen: Given that June records the highest revenue and Hell's Kitchen is the top-performing location with $56,957, it is recommended to strategically leverage and enhance offerings during this peak period. Consider targeted promotions or special events to further boost sales in June. Similarly, explore opportunities to replicate successful strategies from Hell's Kitchen in other locations.
  2. Optimized Staffing During Peak Hours: Recognizing the peak transaction hours from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., it is advisable to optimize staffing levels during this period. Ensuring adequate resources are allocated during high-traffic times will enhance customer service and contribute to increased transaction volumes.
  3. Targeted Marketing on High Transaction Days: With Monday, Thursday, and Friday identified as high transaction days, consider implementing targeted marketing initiatives on these specific days. Tailor promotions, discounts, or special offers to drive further customer engagement and capitalize on the observed patterns.
  4. Enhanced Product Mix and Marketing for Coffee and Tea: Given that coffee and tea exhibit the highest transaction rates across all stores, there is an opportunity to enhance the product mix in these categories. Consider introducing new variants, promotions, or bundle deals to further entice customers. Additionally, focus marketing efforts on highlighting the unique qualities and flavors of the top-selling products, Barista Espresso and Brewed Chai Tea.
  5. Review and Adjustment of Lower Manhattan Strategy: Acknowledging the lower sales in Lower Manhattan compared to other store locations, it is recommended to conduct a targeted review of the business strategy in this area. Evaluate factors such as pricing, product mix, and local preferences to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
