Global Terrorism Analysis

I have created this project focused on uncovering insights into global terrorist attacks spanning the period from 1970 to 2017.

My primary objectives for this analysis includes:

1. Assess the fluctuation in the percentile increase or decrease of terror attacks over the years.
2. Identify the regions that have experienced the highest frequency of terrorist attacks.
3. Determine the countries that have been most frequently targeted in these attacks.
4. Evaluate the level of activity and potential future threats posed by specific terrorist groups.
5. Analyze the most commonly used weapons by terrorists in their attacks.
6. Identify the areas that have been the primary targets of terrorist activities.
7. Examine the seasonal trends to understand which months experience higher levels of terrorist activity.

In doing so I used tools Power BI and Ms. Excel as data source

Following Key Findings I found on Terror Attacks Across the Years:

1. There has been a significant 95% increase in attacks from 1970 to 2017.
2. The South Asia and Middle East and North Africa regions have experienced the highest frequency of attacks.
3. Private citizens and property are the primary targets of these attacks.
4. The Taliban and ISIL stand out as the most active terrorist groups.
5. Afghanistan and India are countries that have witnessed a higher incidence of attacks.
6. Explosives remain the weapon of choice for terrorists in their attacks.
7. The month of July records the highest terrorist activity levels.
