About this project

Overview

This project is a single-page visual that assess the productivity and morale implications of working remotely and outlines an ideal policy for the post-pandemic future.

About the Dataset

dataset contains the results of two surveys of 1,500 remote workers commissioned by the state of New South Wales (NSW). The first took place in August and September 2020, and aimed to capture the remote work experiences and attitudes at the height of the COVID lockdown. Once health restrictions were reduced and a return to lockdown seemed unlikely, a similar survey was conducted between March and April 2021.

Insights

  1. What happened?
    Remote Work has given more time and increased productivity of workers.
  2. What caused it?
    Respondents who were productive when working remotely spent more time compared to the normal work hours
  3. Will Remote workers continue spending more time to work. i.e will they continue to be productive?
    Remote Workers are not likely to continue adding more time to working activities due to their desire for a work-life balance. Spending more time to work is among the 4 worst aspect of Remote work.
  4. The working Conditions and Morale of Remote workers
    More than 70% RW are seeking improvement of the working conditions as this is affecting their moral to work.
  5. Recommendation: A mixed of office based- remote work approach that is heavily titled towards work from office.
