About this project

The Maven Toys Regional Sales Dashboard is designed to help the COO and Regional Sales Managers of a small toy store chain in the US to monitor and analyze monthly sales trends, performance year-over-year, and identify the specific products that drove the biggest gains and losses. The dashboard provides a user-friendly interface that enables filtering by region, store, and product, as well as interactivity to explore data insights in real-time.

To achieve the project's objectives, the following steps were taken:

Defined the purpose for the dashboard and identified the key metrics and interactivity needed. Chose the key dimensions and measures to display on the dashboard, including Year, Month, Store Name/Region/Type, Product Name/Category, Units Sold, Revenue, and Profit. Planned ahead for growing source data by creating a data pipeline to update the dashboard automatically. Prepared the data for visualization by cleaning, transforming, and aggregating the monthly sales figures. Created primary and supporting visuals such as line charts, bar charts, and tables to showcase the sales trends, top-performing products, and sales by region and store. Designed the final dashboard layout to ensure it is user-friendly, interactive, and easy to navigate. Configured the workbook for sharing online, making it easily accessible to the COO and Regional Sales Managers. The dashboard features top-N formulas, previous period calculations, automatic sorting, and conditional formatting to enable the user to filter and analyze the data more effectively. With this dashboard, the COO and Regional Sales Managers can quickly identify trends, monitor performance, and make data-driven decisions to improve the company's sales performance.
